FOUN 511E Ergonomics
The objectives of FOUN 511E is to introduce students to operator, assistant, and patient body positions while working chairside to reduce/eliminate repetitive work stress which results in MSD (CTD). Simulation Clinic will afford students 2 - 2hour classes to develop and practice good dental ergonomics as they are introduced to the dental work area with dental unit, dentist's chair, handpieces, burs and basic hand instruments. Proper OSHA attire and work area organization will be emphasized. This fundamental course is the initial step to operative courses and a pain-free career in dentistry.
